How to Ask Better Questions in a Reading

How to Ask Better Questions in a Reading

The question that gets you the clearest answer in a reading is specific, names one real situation in your life, and gives the astrologer something concrete to weigh against your chart, rather than a broad category like "career" or "love" on its own.

What makes a question too vague for a reading to answer well?

A question is too vague when it names a life area but no actual situation: "What about my career?" or "Tell me about my marriage" gives an astrologer nothing to anchor the chart against, so the answer comes back as a general overview of that house instead of something you can act on. The fix is simple: add the one detail that is actually on your mind, such as "I have been offered a new role and I am deciding whether to take it" or "we have been seeing each other for a year and I want to know if the timing is right to move forward." The chart is the same either way; what changes is how precisely the reading can speak to your actual moment.

Should I ask about a specific decision or a general life area?

A specific decision almost always gets you more than a general life area, because a decision has a timeframe and a set of options attached to it, and both of those are things a reading can speak to directly. "Should I take this job in another city or stay where I am" is a decision. "How is my career going to go" is a life area. Both are valid things to bring, but if you only have time for one question, a live decision in front of you will usually give you something more usable than a wide-angle forecast.

Is it better to ask a yes-or-no question or an open one?

An open question usually serves you better, because a yes-or-no framing can make the answer feel final when the real picture is almost always a matter of timing, conditions, and what you do next, not a single switch flipped on or off. Instead of "will I get married this year," try "what does the timing look like for marriage right now, and what should I be doing differently." You still get a direct read, but you also get the context that tells you what to do with it.

Should I bring dates, names, or details about other people?

Bring the details that are relevant to your own question, but you do not need anyone else's exact birth details to ask about a relationship, a decision, or a conflict involving them; describing the situation in your own words is enough for the reading to work with. If a second person's chart genuinely matters, such as for a compatibility question, that can be arranged separately rather than assumed as a requirement for every reading.

What if I do not know what to ask?

That is a normal place to start, and you do not need a polished question before you book. Come with whatever is actually on your mind, even if it is as loose as "things have felt off lately and I am not sure why," and the reading itself will help narrow it down from there. Richa can usually tell within the first few minutes of looking at your chart where the real pressure point is, even if you walked in without a tidy question.

Can I ask more than one question in a reading?

Yes, most readings naturally cover more than one question, since chart patterns connected to one area of your life often touch others, and a 40-minute session leaves room to follow a thread wherever it actually leads. It still helps to know which question matters most to you going in, so that if time runs short, the one you came for gets answered first.
